One of the meanings of Upa is to move closer to the Truth, Ni means to sit at a lower level than a teacher and shad means to sit down. When I sit down to study with my teacher, I sit down with the awareness that I do not know, therefore, let me understand. It doesn’t mean physically lower. The moment I say I know then all my inquiry stops. I cannot hear anything because I shut my ears with the feeling that I know. Again, I may hear but interpret it according to what I already know. This is also a dangerous thing.
