International Day of Yoga celebrated at The Satsang Foundation campus, Madanapalle

The Madanapalle Satsang Foundation campus came alive with children from The Satsang Vidyalaya, staff members of Satsang Swasthya Kendra and the community participating enthusiastically to celebrate the first International Day of Yoga. The day’s events were guided by Sri Rangaswamy Garu, a Yoga professional who regularly conducts yoga sessions organized by The Satsang Swasthya Kendra morning and evening for the community. Scheduled at 4.00 p.m after the day’s work at Swasthya Kendra, the evening’s program started off very aptly with the chanting of “Samgachhadwam, Samvo manamasi janatam…..” from the Rig Veda. Then followed a systematic yoga regimen with body loosening exercises and yogasanas in standing, sitting and reclining positions. The session ended with meditation and a pledge to keep the mind balanced. The wholehearted participation from the school children and the community was indeed heartening.
