Spiritual people, who reached their goal, used to dress in a particular way. Now, just by dressing like that, we may assume we have reached that state. The people who reached ‘there’ may have used a particular dressing style, depending on the cultural context. Of course, they did not reach that state because they practised a particular way of dressing, which was only incidental.
