In one hand of Ganesha, you will find a pasha, noose, and the other holds an ankusha, means a goad, used to poke, to make people do the work. In the elephant’s case, it is used to poke the finger so that it moves. Pasha in one hand and ankusha in the other, Modakam in one hand, and one hand in blessing, all these are profound symbols.
