The Mahanirvana Tantra says, ‘Anantam Anandam Brahma’,  anandam with no end is Brahman. That comes only when  thoughts have ceased. One cannot attain it  by becoming unconscious. It’s simply that as one goes deep into one’s consciousness and all  illusions we have of being this and that, are removed slowly until one comes to the real source of being, the atma.
