Devotion, bhakti, is in the heart. In the Nath Sampradaya, the ektara is the Sushumna, the single thread that goes from the crown of the head to the bottom of the spine. The seven centres are the swara sthanas, starting with Sa and going to the higher Sa and coming back again.
