Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, while discussing the question - How does one make the mind one-pointed, free from agitation, says there is only one way.  There are no short cuts. Nirantara deergha kaala abhyasena, meaning ‘Practice, practice, practice for a long, long time’ – this is the only way to implement your resolutions; to clear up your mind; to make it positive and free it from negativity.
