About the MyTree Project
Manav Ekta Mission, founded by Sri M, advocates the oneness of humanity. One of the mission's objectives is Sustainable living. My Tree (inspired by the Sanskrit word Maitri) meaning amity, is an initiative to promote amity or a natural alliance between humans and their surroundings. By encouraging individual or community-led partnership programs to plant trees, the My Tree initiative hopes to establish a better sustainable living with nature. Sri M planted a Jackfruit and a Neem sapling.Sri M was joined by Ms. Madhu Singhal, Founder, Mitra Jyothi, an NGO working for people with disability in general and visually impaired. The children from the NGO participated joyfully in the activity and supported to plant four saplings. The volunteers included many from Cognizant Technology Solutions and SayTrees. The My Tree initiative not only includes planting of saplings but also involves regular visits to the site once a week and follow ups on maintenance which will be done in groups. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K485aHqWRogContinue reading
